Pamplona continued

The hotel we stayed in Pamplona is close to the north wall of the fortress. The city of Pamplona was founded in 74 BC by the Roman military and political leader, Gnaeus Pompeius Magnus, better known simply as Pompey.  Many changes occurred over the years.  The current city wall was constructed in 1530. The Pentagon shaped fortress was ordered to be built by Felipe II in 1571.
