Rupit, Spain

Somehow I missed posting the day we spent in Rupit, a medieval village we visited when T&J were with us.  Two cars drove over  with Mike following Ed.  But early enough Mike's car lost track of Ed's car.  Fern and I were in Mike's car, and also tried to help looking at directions and signs.  We managed to arrive the destination though and was not too far behind the first car.  The first group was having coffee at the cafe by the parking lot, and waiting for us.

Some scenery before we reach Rupit:

Some old pictures

Huilang told me that she is cleaning up her house, in preparation of departure from this world. Something a lot of us of my age are thinking and doing probably.  I looked at some of my old pictures, and found some taken when I was a child.  All these black and white pictures are small and have turned yellow.  I took a digital copy and placed them below, trying to take a good look of myself:

To visit XiaoDi and Loming in Montreal

XiaoDi and Loming came to Canada to visit their daughter, son-in-law and their new baby girl.  The siblings decided to drive up to see them.  The siblings could also have a get together.  The second day after flying back from Cincinnati, I went to the airport to pick up Dean and Maria, then unto T&J's place.  On the way we stopped at Annapolis.  Maria was too tired and decided to take a nap in the car.  Dean and I ventured out for a little walk to the waterfront and look for a place for some food.  Dean found this little restaurant that serves breakfast all day long.  It looks small and quiet.  But it was packed inside, and the food was great.  Dean and I had a great time .  We ordered carry out for Maria.  The portion was so big that she had left overs for 2 more meals.

One can see how crammed are the seats:

The baby is 2 months old and quite cute.  The adults did lots of talking, eating, and some sight seeing:

The Basilica of Montreal is quite pretty:

One of the conversation was to remember our relatives, and try to connect our collective memories of some of our relations.  And I mentioned about the last names of our grand parents from both side of our parents.  None of our siblings has ever met our grand parents, and we only have seen a picture of our Father's father.

Mini reunion in Cincinnati

The wedding of YS's daughter Minday was held in Cincinnati.  So Meiping (and her boy friend Wei), Chunlei (and her husband), Doreen, and I all went for the wedding.  The five college mates also had a mini reunion.  Mei-ping, Wei, Doreen, and I spent some time at the Riverfront Park in the morning of the wedding.  Meiping, Doreen and I drove to Kentucky to visit the Horse Park in Lexington the following day after the brunch.  Chunlei couple and Wei went back to Chicago.  YS had to keep company with her relatives from Taiwan and missed the fun with us.
